William E. Turnipseed was born in Washington, DC in 1946.  After graduating from the University of Virginia with a B.A. in International Relations, Mr. Turnipseed served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam.  He later attended the University of South Carolina School of Law, graduating in 1974.  Mr. Turnipseed served as an Assistant Regional Commissioner with the General Services Administration and Assistant U.S. Attorney before joining Savell & Williams in 1979.

Mr. Turnipseed is an experienced trial lawyer who concentrates his practice on insurance defense, products liability, and the representation of asset-based lenders both in and outside of the Bankruptcy Courts. He also serves clients in agency and private adoption matters.  He is a member of the American Bar Association, the Georgia Bar Association, and the Georgia Defense Lawyers Association, and is admitted to practice in the Eleventh and Fifth Circuit Courts of Appeals, the Federal Circuit Court of Appeals, the Federal Claims Court, the Federal Courts of the Northern and Middle Districts of Georgia, and the Georgia state and appellate courts.

Mr. Turnipseed is the current President of the Spina Bifida Association of Georgia, and a past member of the State and National boards of the Spina Bifida Association.  He further serves as an elder in the Decatur Presbyterian Church.
