Gregg M. Porter was born in Huntington, Long Island, New York in 1969 and moved to Atlanta in 1977.   After graduating from Furman University in 1992 with a degree in Political Science, Mr. Porter attended the Georgia State University School of Law.  There, he served as Notes and Comments Editor of the Law Review and met his wife, Julie  Porter.  Mr. Porter graduated from Georgia State, cum laude, in 1995.

Mr. Porter began his legal career in Gainesville, Georgia.  He joined Savell & Williams in 1996 and focuses on the defense of employers and insurers in workers’ compensation cases, and individuals and corporations in general liability matters.  He is a member of the State Bar of Georgia and the Atlanta Bar Association where he serves as a director of the Workers’ Compensation Section.  In 2002, Mr. Porter was appointed to the State Board of Workers' Compensation Chairperson’s Advisory Counsel, where he serves on the managed care and rehabilitation committee.  He is admitted to practice in the Georgia state and appellate courts, and the Northern District of Georgia.

For the last five years, Mr. Porter has served as the Race Chairman of the annual Run for Kids’ Chance, which has raised more than $150,000 for Kids’ Chance, Inc.  Kids’ Chance is a 501C3 organization that provides educational scholarships to the children of  Georgia’s severely injured workers.
