Mark S. Gannon was born in Stuttgart, Germany in 1950 and lived on various military bases while growing up.  He graduated from Marquette University, cum laude, in 1971 with a B.A. in political science.  Mr. Gannon graduated from Emory University School of Law in 1976.  While at Emory, Mr. Gannon began a longstanding tradition of community and professional involvement, including work with the Hillside Cottages, Inc. Board, Briarcliff Community Sports, and the Fulton County Superior Court Arbitration program.

Mr. Gannon joined Savell & Williams in 1976, and has been active in the management and professional development of the firm, serving first as chairman of the Management Committee from 1984 until 1997, and then as Managing Partner from 1997 to the present.  He is a member of the Atlanta Bar Association, Workers’ Compensation Section (Board of Directors, 1986-1991; Chairman 1989-1990); the Decatur-Dekalb and American Bar Associations; the State Bar of Georgia, Litigation and Workers’ Compensation Sections (Executive Committee, 1996-2003; Chairman 2001-2002); the State Board of Workers’ Compensation Advisory Council and Rules and Mediation Committee (Member, 1994 – present;  Chairman, 2001-present); the Governor’s Workers’ Compensation Advisory Commission (Co-Chairman, Medical Committee, 2000 – 2001); the Governor’s Workers’ Compensation Review Commission (2001-2003); the Georgia Defense Lawyers Association, and the Lawyers Club of Atlanta.  Mr. Gannon has published many articles on topics relating to workers’ compensation and civil practice issues.

Mr. Gannon lives with his wife Kathie in Druid Hills.
