Jennifer Houser Chapin was born in 1960 in Dayton, Ohio.  She moved to Atlanta in 1967 and later attended Wesleyan College in Macon, Georgia as a Wesleyan Scholar.  She graduated in 1982 with a Bachelor’s Degree in History.  Her undergraduate studies included a year in Tokyo, Japan.  Ms. Chapin attended the University of Georgia School of Law and obtained her J.D. degree in 1986.  While at UGA, Ms. Chapin was a member of the Georgia Journal of International Law editorial board and participated on the Mock Trial Competition Team.

Ms. Chapin began her career at Savell & Williams as a summer clerk in 1984.  She joined the firm as an associate in 1986 and was elected to partnership in 1992.  She is a member of the State Bar of Georgia, the Atlanta Bar Association, the Georgia Defense Lawyers Association, the Defense Research Institute, and the Atlanta Claims Association, and is admitted to practice in all Georgia state and appellate courts as well as the Northern District of Georgia and the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals.  The focus of her practice is workers’ compensation, premises liability, employment and general insurance defense.

Ms. Chapin is an active participant in events supporting Kids’ Chance, Inc., a non-profit organization providing educational resources for children of Georgia’s injured workers.  She has conducted many client seminars and conferences on topics relating to employment law, insurance liability, and workers’ compensation defense, and is a frequent participant in Georgia State Board of Workers’ Compensation seminars.

Ms. Chapin and her husband Bob live in Norcross, Georgia where they delight in raising their four boys and dedicating their time to the Norcross Soccer Association.  Ms. Chapin has also been a member of the Atlanta Lawn Tennis Association since 1983.
