Matthew J. Ashby
Matthew J. Ashby was born in Chicago, Illinois
in 1970 and moved to Atlanta in 1979. After earning a B.A. in Biology from
Lafayette College, Mr. Ashby attended Seton Hall University School of Law,
from which he graduated in 1995. Following law school he worked as a
judicial clerk for the Honorable C. Michael Roach, Cherokee County
Superior Court.
Mr. Ashby joined Savell & Williams, L.L.P. as a partner in 2006, following
nine years of practice with another litigation law firm in Atlanta. He
focuses his practice on commercial litigation, premises liability, product
liability, personal injury, wrongful death, professional malpractice and
general insurance defense and coverage. He also conducts client training
on premises liability issues and has assisted in the development and
implementation of internal policies and procedures.
Mr. Ashby is admitted to practice in all Georgia state and appellate
courts, the Northern District of Georgia and the Eleventh Circuit Court of
Appeals. He is a member of the State Bar of Georgia, Atlanta Bar
Association, American Bar Association, Lawyers Club of Atlanta and the
Atlanta Claims Association.
Mr. Ashby serves as an Alumni Admissions Representative for Lafayette
College. He is an avid sports fan and enjoys playing tennis with the
Atlanta Lawn Tennis Association and softball with the Atlanta Bar
Association Softball League.
Mr. Ashby lives in Atlanta, Georgia with his wife, Bonnie, and sons, Will
and Mason.
